PeopleSoft (now Oracle) applications are the basis for a great number of the University's mission critical functions, and EAD is at the heart of OIT's PeopleSoft support. Our staff of product managers and PeopleSoft analyst/programmers provide development support for the Campus Solutions and Human Resources modules, and develop all application fixes and customizations to the system affecting the four University campuses.
Our production PeopleSoft inventory is large, complex and highly tailored to the University of Minnesota environment. As this calendar of events shows, instance refreshes, code migrations and application of patches/bundles/regulatory releases are frequent, ongoing events.
As of January, 2007, the University of Minnesota's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Human Resources applications are running on application version 8.9, with PeopleTools level 8.48. EAD provides development support and codes all application customizations and software integrations to these applications.
In addition to exposing core PeopleSoft functionality, EAD develops and maintains a wide variety of web self-service applications that interface to PeopleSoft via an innovative XML-based service layer. Many students and staff members interact with these external self-service applications, as opposed to the native PeopleSoft screens.
